Breakaway Distributing is a company that specializes in manufacturing clothing with printed designs. A broad assortment and a multitude of possibilities to personalize printed designs are features that distinguish them from the competition. As the company grew, they made the decision to expand their market by another, online channel.

Break Away Distributing needed a dedicated e-commerce solution for B2B and B2C markets that would ensure the stable operation of both platforms, make expansion with more functionalities possible, and serve the company for many years to come. Here, maintaining the proper price-to-quality relationship of the implemented functionalities was a priority. What solutions did we apply?

Break Away Distributing – Integrated Administration Panel_

The implementation of an integrated administration panel for both platforms, which service orders from both retail and wholesale customer, provided our client with a series of quantifiable benefits. What were they?

Raising work efficiency – all orders are visible in one panel. Employees do not have to handle wholesale and retail orders separately. One login provides access to the current status of all orders.

Fast servicing of orders – orders placed are automatically directed to the appropriate department. This reduces the time of their preparation and means that customers receive their goods on time, according to their preferences, and at a favorable price.

Higher quality of service – every employee has access to the status of orders, which decidedly facilitates the customer service process and ensures better communication. This, in turn, encourages customers to come back to the Breakaway Distribution store to make more purchases.

Lower cost of project implementation – the administration panel was prepared on the basis of the ready MultiStore module, available for platforms built on the basis of Magento technology. Applying a ready module reduced the time required to create an additional store and substantially reduced the total cost of implementation by over USD 3,000.

_Module for individual order valuations

Over the course of work on preparing platforms for Break Away Distributing, we also made sure to improve automatic processing of orders. The module for determining wholesale prices decidedly improved the process of transferring orders to the next stages of realization.

The customer inputs the details of their order in the product creator available online, and then sends it for individual valuation with literally one click. The offer created and accepted in this way is then transformed by the salesperson monitoring the valuation process into an order by means of a very simple mechanism.

Did the solution turn out to be beneficial for the client?

Improving efficiency – the customer service department did not have to manually input data into an order in the administration panel every time, which saves a lot of time.

Reduction of implementation costs – we applied a ready module that we adapted to the client’s individual needs. In this way, we cut costs by another USD 4,000.

_Dedicated product card – clothing creator

Shirts, hats and hoodies – these are just a fraction of the assortment offered by Breakaway Distribution. What is more, each of these products is available in many colors and sizes. And the same goes for printed designs.

Over the course of conceptual work, prior to the project’s implementation, we decided that it would be an improvement for the Client to create a solution in the form of a dedicated product card, along with a configurator available online.

Every user of the Breakaway Distributing store can independently select products and endow them with the desired features – color, size and quantity. After the configuration process is concluded, the order is automatically transferred to the appropriate department.

What benefits did this functionality bring to the Client?

Shorter order processing time – the creator reduces the time required to arrange the details of an order. It also gives customers a sense of satisfaction with the capability of adjusting products to their individual needs.

Improved work efficiency – the online order configurator allows Break Away Distributing employees to focus on the process of filling existing orders and ensure that they are delivered on time. The clothing creator provides the capability of personalizing an order before the request for quotation is sent to the valuation department.

_Product catalogue in pdf format

Another functionality that was implemented concerned the presentation of individual product groups in catalogues available online in pdf format. We used a ready module for this purpose. In this way, we reduced the project’s costs by approx. USD 1,500.

Other benefits of this functionality include:

Quick access to the product base – customers can browse the products offered by Break Away Distributing without the need to send requests for quotation to the customer service department. Product catalogues are available online and can be downloaded onto the user’s device.

Easy updating of data – catalogues presented on the Client’s e-commerce website can be edited and updated quickly and easily. Moreover, they also make it possible to present products in an interesting graphical layout.

_Unique graphical layout

Over the course of the project’s implementation for Breakaway Distribution, we also made sure to create a custom graphical layout. It provides the brand a cohesive image and has a positive impact on building its image on the market as a leader in the industry of printed designs on clothing and advertising gadgets.

The solutions we proposed were developed using RWD Bootstrap technology, which means that, in practice, Breakaway Distribution received a platform adapted to the requirements of mobile devices and meeting modern graphical design standards.

_Summary

The project of implementing a B2B and B2C platform for Break Away Distributing is an excellent example of how to create a dedicated solution, with growth of e-commerce in mind, that is partially based on ready modules. This makes it possible to reduce costs substantially – in total, according to our calculations, we were able to save approx. USD 8,500, while simultaneously preserving the desired functionalities. In addition, such an approach also leaves the door open to the platform’s expansion in the future.
